Project Overview

Amsiggel is a 17 episode series originally written in the Tachelhayt language of Morocco (one of our FFV languages). FFV multimedia is working with the author of this series to dub it into other FFV languages.  To date we have completed the series in Shawi and Tamachek.  Draft texts are complete in Tamazight, Riffi and dialectical Algerian Arabic.  

The Word of God touches people whenever they receive it. The Psalms have a particularly powerful message of the beauty and holiness of our creator God. There are a number of Psalms which have already been recorded in several FFV languages. This project aims to take these completed sound tracks and add images (video or animation) so that they may be broadcast and watched via the internet.

The Chaoui language has so little translated Bible content that in 2018 we decided to create our own non-official translation of a selection of key Bible passages.  We worked with the SIL Bible translation consultant and completed 130 short Bible passages.  These were all recorded in 2019 and integrated into an App for Android and to the new website for the Chaoui people.  We have since been working on creating image slideshows for some of these recordings - the slideshows use images selected to reflect key thoughts in the passage being read.  These slideshows will enable the Bible passages to be aired on TV or viewed on the web.  

We have created an app for Android phones which plays through these passages and shows the texts for those who can read them.  We have also created an app for Android to give access to the InjilChaoui website via the Google Play store.  We would like to make our app off-line - the main future development goal - this would mean that when someone downloads and installs it they get the content as well and can play in later on when they have no data/internet access.  

We have translated 4 episodes of this series in Chaoui and are preparing to record them for inclusion with the videos as a voice over.

We took the decision to create a new website for the Chaoui people in 2019.  The site began its public life in January 2020.  We ran Google Ads on this site to attract web surfers to it in 2021 and 2022.  The ads drew over 10,000 visitors per year - the ads are no longer running as we need to renew our budget and update documentation prooving our right (copyright) to broadcast the content on the site.
