STORYCHANNEL
The Rooftops
Speak
Surprise
Blessing
Dear Friends
Some
seasons in
ministry feel
both amazing
and fragile —
and yet, in
those very
places, we
often see
God’s hand
most
clearly. This
Spring has
brought both
challenges and
doors of
opportunity
across North
Africa.
|
|
Every satellite dish is a silent
doorway—
carrying hope
into hidden
places.
|
|
|
This
May, some of the
StoryChannel team
spent several weeks
traveling across one
of the North African
countries where
StoryChannel
broadcasts. It was
both deeply moving and
strategically
important.
In
many towns and
villages we visited,
one sight stood
out—satellite dishes
mounted on every kind
of rooftop. We saw them fastened to simple clay
shelters, clustered
on apartment
balconies, and
stacked across
modern city
high-rises. In
some places, one
single home had five
or more dishes.
At
a time when much of
the world assumes that
social media has
replaced older forms
of media distribution,
it was striking to see
how heavily people
here still depend on
satellite—not as
outdated, but as their
most trusted,
accessible source of
content. This moved us
deeply.
It
was a powerful
reminder of why
StoryChannel
exists—and why your
partnership matters.
Satellite television
remains one of the
only ways to bring
gospel-centered,
heart-language
programming into homes
across this region—quietly,
safely, and without
restriction.
|
|
Again
and again, we heard
the same message from
those we met:
satellite remains one of the safest, most
effective ways for
people to hear about
Jesus—
in the privacy of
their homes, without
risk of public
exposure. In places
where churches cannot
gather openly, the
Gospel still goes
forward, screen by
screen, home by home.
|
|
Throughout
our trip, we
sat
face-to-face
with
producers,
local workers,
and believers
who continue
to share the
love of
Jesus—often
under the
watchful eye
of government
scrutiny.
Some have served faithfully for years,
quietly
discipling and
encouraging
others in the
background. Others
are just
beginning,
full of vision
for how media
can reach
their people.
|
|
|
|
One
of the highlights was
visiting the
production team
preparing the
first-ever women’s
series in one of the
Amazigh languages.
Though the set was
still under
construction when we
arrived, filming is
about to begin—and
these programs will
soon go out to places
where women often have
very few safe spaces
to hear life-giving
affirmation. Funding
for this project was
generously raised by
a church that
supports the
ministry of
StoryChannel.
|
|
|
In
each region, we met
with leaders serving distinct
Amazigh language
groups—each one
representing
millions of people,
and each carrying a
unique passion for the
Amazigh culture and
identity. One
especially encouraging
meeting was with a
leader working with an
Amazigh group who has
fully embraced the
power of media in his
ministry. Our time
together opened
exciting doors for
future collaboration.
|
|
Each hour represents one more chance—
for a woman in
a remote
village to
hear someone
speak of true
love, a young
man
encountering
Christ through
a friend on
TV,
or a family
watching a
moving drama
after
dinner.
|
|
|
|
When
StoryChannel first
began broadcasting
into North Africa,
there was almost
no Christian content
on air in most
Amazigh languages.
What once seemed
nearly impossible is
now slowly becoming
reality. Every year,
the reach of
StoryChannel is
growing.
|
|
As
of June 2025,
StoryChannel is
broadcasting over 1,234
total hours of
Gospel programming
across North
Africa—and it's still
increasing.
-
Amazigh languages:
421 hours (up
from 310 last year)
-
Arabic dialects:
476 hours (up
from 309)
-
French: 332 hours
(up from 273) |
|
|
Even
more exciting: Many of
these new programs
have been presented
by believers from
North Africa.
These are believers
who understand their
own culture, speak the
language naturally,
and know how to share
the hope of Christ in
ways that truly
connect. We are simply
helping to open doors
and support them in
their work. |
|
Where Language
Meets the Heart
|
|
When words enter through the language
of the
heart,
something
shifts deep
inside.
|
|
|
|
StoryChannel
exists to bring the
Gospel into North
Africa’s most
spiritually isolated
places. But part of
what makes this region
so complex is its incredible
variety of languages
and cultures.
|
|
Across
Morocco,
Algeria,
Tunisia,
Libya,
Mauritania,
Mali, and
Niger,
people
speak dozens
of languages.
Some
speak Arabic
or French as
their national
or daily
language.
But
millions
belong to
Amazigh
(Berber)
groups—whose
languages like
Kabyle,
Tachelhit,
Tarifit,
Tamazight,
Tamajaq, and
Tamashek are
still used in
their homes,
families, and
villages.
Many
of these
languages are
spoken across
wide areas,
like the
Middle Atlas
Mountains in
Morocco, the
Kabylie region
of Algeria,
the Sahara,
and Tuareg
regions in
Mali and
Niger.
|
|
|
|
For
some Amazigh
languages, children
are still growing up
speaking them at home.
For others, the
language is slowly
fading as younger
generations shift to
Arabic. |
|
But
even for those who no
longer speak Amazigh
fluently, their
Amazigh identity
remains central. It
shapes their
worldview, culture,
family traditions, and
deep sense of
belonging.

PRAYER
Look at
the nations
and watch —
and be utterly
amazed. For I
am going to do
something in
your days that
you would not
believe.
Habakkuk 1:5
Morocco We pray for
believers
facing
increased
scrutiny amid
new government
decrees
expanding
media
oversight.
Grant them
wisdom and
courage to
navigate these
challenges and
continue
sharing Your
Word.
Algeria With nearly
all Protestant
churches
closed and
leaders facing
prosecution,
we ask for
strength and
peace for
those
targeted, and
for unity
among
Christians.
May they find
ways to gather
and worship
safely, and
may their
faith shine
brightly.
Tunisia As
political
tensions rise
and religious
freedoms
become more
ambiguous, we
pray for
protection
over converts
and house
churches. Let
Your peace
guard their
hearts amid
uncertainty.
Libya In a land
marked by
instability
and real
danger for
Christians,
especially
converts, we
ask for Your
shield of
protection.
Provide safe
fellowship and
spiritual
nourishment
for those who
follow You in
secret.
Mauritania Facing
strict laws
against
apostasy and
recent public
demonstrations
against
Christians, we
pray for
courage and
resilience for
believers. May
they be lights
in their
communities,
reflecting
Your love.
Mali With the rise of
extremist
groups
imposing harsh
demands on
Christians, we
seek Your
intervention.
Protect Your
people from
harm, and let
justice and
peace prevail
in their
regions.
Niger Amidst political
turmoil and
increased
attacks on
Christians, we
ask for
stability and
safety.
Strengthen the
faith of
believers and
open doors for
the Gospel to
reach even the
most remote
areas.
And across
every border,
every
language, and
every
heart—may the
hope of Christ
break through
the darkness,
bringing
salvation,
healing, and
the freedom
that only He
can give.

The Story Behind
Every Gift
|
|
|
Standing where feet may never walk
|
|
|
- A
young person who
chooses to give
$30 a month,
sacrificing to
invest in people
they may never
meet.
- A
widow who entrusts
a gift of the tens
of thousands—a
sacred offering
out of deep faith
and generosity.
- A church—geographically distant, yet deeply
attuned to the
heart of God and
the needs of many.
- A
local ministry
inside North
Africa that
challenges their
own supporters to
stand with us and
give toward
StoryChannel’s
mission.
And
now, most recently, a
new foundation has
joined hands with
us—entrusting a
portion of their
resources to fuel this
work and carry the
Gospel further.
|
|
|
We remain deeply aware that this is not our work,
but God's. And
He continues
to write this
story—through
every person
who says,
"Yes, I want
to be a part
of this."
|
|
|
Over
the years, as
a team, we’ve
faced many
moments when
the future of
StoryChannel
seemed
uncertain.
There have
been times
when the
question was
painfully
real: Will we
be able to
keep
broadcasting?
But
again and
again, at just
the right
time, God has
stirred hearts
to give—and
the doors have
remained open.
Each gift is
different. But
behind every
one is a
story—a heart
that God has
moved.
These gifts do
more than
cover
expenses. They
represent a
deep love that
carries hope
into homes
that cannot be
reached any
other
way. |

Building a Stable
Ministry Matters
|
|
A stronger foundation means one thing:
uninterrupted
hope, reaching
further, for
longer.
|
|
|
Right
now, about 30% of
StoryChannel’s monthly
broadcast costs are
covered by faithful
supporters from around
the world. Our prayer
is to grow that to
50%—building a
stronger foundation to
keep broadcasting
steady for the long
haul.
Every
gift helps make it
possible to:
- Keep
24/7 Gospel
broadcasts on the
air across seven
nations
- Launch
new programs in
Amazigh languages
- Support
secure
discipleship
networks for
isolated believers
- Bring
the message of
Jesus where no
open church can
exist
How
gifts translate into
broadcast time:
$100
= 1/2 day of
broadcasting
$200
= 1 full day
$1,400
= 1 week
$3,000
= 1/2 month
$6,000
= 1 full month

prioritize
culturally-sensitive
biblically-based
content, leveraging
both social media and
satellite television
to reach the
least-reached groups
across Algeria,
Tunisia, Libya,
Morocco, Mauritania,
Mali, and Niger.
